Global Centers for Entrepreneurship — a map-based directory for a global ecosystem
A searchable, map-first directory for an entrepreneurship network spanning several continents — built so a founder, investor or partner can find the right counterpart in a few clicks rather than a spreadsheet.
01 Challenge
An ecosystem is only useful if its members can find each other. GCE had a growing network of centres, startups, investors and partners across multiple continents, and no way for any of them to locate a relevant counterpart. A list does not solve this: the question is rarely “who is a member” but “who near me, in my sector, wants what I want.”
02 Approach
We built the directory around the map rather than adding a map to a list. Every profile carries a location, a type, a sector and a stated intent, so the same dataset answers a geographic question and a matchmaking question. Filtering had to combine rather than replace — sector and country and what someone is looking for — because that is how the real question is asked.
03 Solution
A full-screen map directory on the GCE site, with five combinable filters — profile type, continent, country, sector, and what a member is looking for — plus free-text search and a featured toggle. Profiles cover co-founders, companies, investors, partners and startups, across sectors from fintech and healthcare to climate tech and AI. Records are maintained through the WordPress admin, so GCE adds and edits members without coming back to us.
04 Outcome
Built and handed over on the client’s development environment. Whether it goes live, and what it produces when it does, is GCE’s to say; nothing is claimed here.
